Rural Rules Apply

I have been very lucky the last few visits with my cell mates in the 3 bed rooms. One of the current ones is a 80+ year old with cancer problems but the most happy, joyful type you could wish to meet. A former truck driver, he and his wife live in a very rural part near here - everything is rural here but he's really rural.

His charming wife came in to see him, the first time since his operation. She stormed in and couldn't get to hug him quickly enough. And to celebrate gthe good news she brought him flowers . not a bunch of cut flowers that would wilt in a day or two but directly from the garden centre a potted plant which could be taken home when he left and put in the garden.

Love it - salt of the earth. I took it upon myself to find a saucer so that not too much earth got spread on our meal table and took charge of watering duties for the next two days until I carried it down to the car park for the wife a day or two later.
