Bondi?

The last day of the school holidays - and the best day of the summer so far!

Bit of a slow start given my guests' late night last night - Vaults tour.

Today's plan was to climb Arthur's Seat along with T's friend A who is working in Edinburgh.  As you can see we managed it!  And it was a beautiful view, if a bit hazy. I could see my house, the flat, where #2 son's house is and almost the Manor - well the latter is pushing it a bit.  And a good view of 'Celebrity Princess', moored in the Forth.  We saw a lot of her passengers later, following tour guides.

After we came down we headed for the beach, which was mobbed.  I have never seen Portobello so busy with people in the water, no less.

We had a late lunch in the Beach House and then a walk along the Promenade as T and A wanted crepes from Crumbs.  Big mistake!  the '15 minute wait' turned out to be nearer 50 minutes in which time J and I had Luca's 99.  The wait meant it was 5 before we left the beach and then got stuck in the most horrendous rush hour traffic.  It took over an hour to do less than 10 miles.

Quick turnaround and then out to meet #2 son in the Grassmarket.  It was a beautiful balmy night and the restaurants were mobbed but we managed to grab a table for a pizza, and a meet a lovely Italian waitress. It was a good night, accompanied by the soundtrack of the tattoo, an almost full moon and, as we waited for the bus, the Tattoo fireworks.

And Molly met us on the doorstep when we got home.  Aahh!
