Up close and personal

Ethan stands in a boulder field overlooking Mt. St. Helens volcanic peak (8,364 ft) in the Cascade Range. It is an active strato-volcano whose most recent eruption was in 1980. Powdery ash is still abundant in the cracks and crannies in this boulder field we crossed.
