Boat Racing

Speedboat Racing is a big operation. If a boat is too wide for the highways, special trailers have a hydraulic mechanism that tilts the boat for travel. then the boat can be lowered to level for launching at a ramp.

Michigan City Harbor is one the sites on the Powerboat Racing Circuit. Each of the larger boats, which are about 50 feet long, has a semi-truck for a tender. I was almost as much impressed with the trucks as with the boats. The trailers have a machine shop and storage for parts and tools. They are as clean an an Operating Room.
