Life's Little Moments

A balance correction penalty

Team Bumble Bee was looking so good in these AO Games - they are in medal contention for nectaring, pollen snogging and  the 50 m flight.  And Boris Bee was heavily favored to medal on the Flower Beam ...until he lost his focus for one second, causing a noticeable balance correction.  And as we all know, this means that points were deducted from his final score.  Alas, he slipped out of medal position.  His team mates petitioned the judges, but to no avail.

In other news Team Flower Crab Spider finally put in an appearance in the Color Coordination Event with their star nearly perfectly matching her tickseed floral background.  Happily, she also resisted eating a tiny fly that landed within striking distance ... between you and me, I suspect she didn't want to be caught on film snatching a competitor.

Team Beetle sent their very best diver in for the Leaf Diving finals and, I'm happy to report, when I left the arena he was solidly holding onto the gold position.

Unfortunately, a big scandal developed for Team Wasp, resulting in the banning of all Great Golden Digger contestants.  Yes, Team Captain Gilda was photographed kidnapping a member of Team Katydid!  It has completely traumatized Team K and they are now saying they don't feel safe competing in any of the jumping or flying events.  Can't say I blame them...  This is the third sub-team of Team Wasp to be banned in these Games...the first being the Brown Wasps for eating the monarch cats; next being the Yellow Jackets for chasing and terrorizing the members of Team Hummie...and now this.  A sad day for a once proud team.

Team Hummie is practicing hard and just learned today that they've secured a place in the Closing Ceremonies!  They are over the moon, naturally.  They won't tell me what they have planned, so I guess we'll just have to wait until 21 August to find out...

Once again, I have to say how much I am enjoying all the AOG entries - some wonderful photos and hilarious write ups.  Thanks to everyone who continues to participate and for those who haven't - it's not too late!  Please do check out today's entries at #AOG18

Thanks for stopping by!
