A Day Worth Recording

Unbourne

Went to see the new Bourne film tonight at the very comfortable Malvern Theatres cinema, pictured.

While I was happily entertained by the film (much as I would be a Bond film) I did come away thinking it's rather lost the plot; literally.

The original trilogy was a class up from Bond with its strong rational story, mostly-credible scenes and some truly viable technology, now it's car chases and laughable technowibble wrapped by an extraordinarily thin veneer of plot. I guess that happens when the story passes from writer to filmmaker.  Sorry Paul Greengrass, you are no Robert Ludlum.

Pity.
