Squirrel Blip Friday AND A Medal!

Team Squirrel’s relocation of their gymnastics venue to a cooler area was met with some criticism, although when time came for the balance beam competition, everyone seemed quite happy to be in the shade.  Temperatures here in the Pacific Northwest are still uncomfortably high enough to make this reporter grumpy but the athletes are soldiering on with some amazing performances. 
 
   Benny Squirrel did a bang-up job on the balance beam with a spectacular routine that won him a Silver medal.  Most of Benny’s teammates are here at the Alternative Olympics for the first time and aren’t as seasoned as he is, but they’re an eager, talented bunch and will no doubt shine in the next Olympic games.
