Meticulous planning

Best friend Jo and I have decided to repeat our successful summer excursion to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year. Since she lives in London and I'm in Cambridge much research time (months ago) were spent planning a train route with stops and stations in common so we could travel together.

The online booking system didn't seem to be able to cope with booking from two different start off stations, but no matter we booked separately.

So why I am now sitting on a train that gets into Edinburgh two hours later than Jo's is a puzzle.

Not so meticulous after all!
