Bugs Braving The Weather

Not ideal weather for shooting macro today as it has been very wet and windy.

I shot the soggy, male, red-tailed bumble bee cowering on a hawkbit flower this morning. After lunch I went to see what I could find in our disused car park. It was blowing really hard and I was conscious of a butterfly being tossed about. Through the corner of my eye it looked orange but not orange enough to be a comma. I was so delighted when I found a painted lady settled on the ground. I got a few poor shots and then the heavens opened. I returned later and was even more delighted to find it again. My shot isn't great but it was lovely to capture this brave, strong-flying creature after its long journey from North Africa.
