Sam knows calm

Teenage meltdown to end all meltdowns. A truly seismic, volcanic eruption of stratospheric proportions. I was so taken aback and unprepared for the maelstrom of anxiety all wrapped up in a 12 1/2 year old I responded in kind.....#parent fail.

Dave, conspicuous by his silence, looked like he was holding up an imaginary crash barrier. But luckily there was Sam, who was on top form and seeing his mum needed a major zen intervention cajoled me into heading out for a late night beach comb, while Dave kept an ear and eye out for the slowly coming down off the ceiling daughter who had retreated to her room.

The Beach worked wonders and the moon, huge and very In the Company of Wolves and American Werewolf in the sky, was perhaps the culprit after all.
