Last Stalk Standing

I was out early (again) with Finlay - and we walked along the path that runs beside the field that was harvested just a couple days ago - the landowner clears the path once a year (at harvest time) so we can begin to use it after a few months of thick thistle growth blocking the route!

A solitary ear of wheat has been missed by the combine and is now the last stalk standing.

A busy day ahead of a trip down to Berkshire and Hampshire tomorrow. We are taking Mrs madwill's mother with us to a funeral on Tuesday in Newbury - and the timing is such that we don't really have time to get there on the day or get home again afterwards! So we are going to stay a couple of nights in Basingstoke and we will visit my mother and sister who both live there.

So we have been sorting out clothes / suits, cleaning the rubbish from my car (!), this afternoon I have taken Finaly to stay with our daughter in Doncaster and we have also had to clear out the spare room so Mrs madwill's mother can stay! It was still loaded with 'stuff' we cleared out when we decorated and carpeted the lounge. I have now shifted a lot of it into the garage (which is now full).

I may be a bit quiet on comments for few days whilst we travel up and down!
