The path to .........

One of the eyepieces on J's binoculars detached months ago, since when she has been borrowing mine when we are out. To get them repaired required us to visit an RSPB centre, as they are RSPB bins so not repairable except through the manufacturers they use. It has taken us till today to get to our nearest place - the Ribble Estuary visitor centre at Lytham.

Amazingly, we have never been to Lytham before - in fact we have not been to the Fylde together in decades ! So we had a walk around - and a very pleasant town it is.

The blip is a shot I liked. Not sure whether these two were waiting for a boat or admiring the view (that is Southport in the distance). And the lady was hanging onto her tripod for dear life in the blowy conditions.

The extras - Lytham's famous windmill, built in 1805, and lovingly restored having suffered almost catastrophic damage in high winds years ago. And a boat sailing up the River Wrea between the salt marshes.

We will be back - we will have to collect the bins, and maybe get in a good walk along the Ribble Estuary shore
