Farewell, Alice!

This morning we were very sad. After a wonderful 2 weeks with our friends Alice and Elisabet, it was time to say goodbye and start our long journey back home to England. This has been the bestest holiday ever!  A poodle holiday with my Best Friend Forever Alice!  

We did so many fun things - walkies - forests and meadows, canal and city walks, a poodle reunion, rock climbing, a boat trip (for Mum), Smörgåsbord, the summer house, pizza, chillaxing on the balcony, delicious breakfasts and dinners, geocaching, picnics, Fika time and Tea time, and not to forget - Lickin' Liver Ice Cream!  

Alice and her mum were so welcoming and gracious to let us invade their home and their lives. It was hard to leave, even though we spent time taking 'Happy Pictures' this morning!  I think you can still see the sadness on our faces. But as Alice said in her journal, this is only the end of the beginning!  Best Friends Forever!  We hope we will see each other again!

We drove about 5 hours south today, though with a few stops. Our longest stop was in a town called Ähus, almost on the coast (See extra photo). We walked around and took a few pictures. There were lots of fancy boats but the one we liked the most was the one that served Ice-Cream!  So there we went!  Mum ordered two small scoops (so she thought!) but got what looked like a giant family portion instead. Well, I'm family!  So I helped her out at the very end. (Alice - you should have been here to help!)  We also walked past the Absolute Vodka distillery. But there was no tasting there for either of us!

We finally ended up visiting one of Mum's friends (from work) who opened up her lovely home for us to stay for the night on our journey home. These Swedish people sure are hospitable!
