Swimming throughout the lily pads

Took a walk this evening with two of my daughters in North Chagrin Reservation. The water in the marsh was so low the Canada geese were forced to wade rather than swim. This female mallard, a little smaller than the geese, managed a bit of a swim among the lily pads...apparently a good place to look for bugs and other delicacies for the evening meal. It's been another hot day in northeast Ohio, not as hot as the last two 90 degree+ days, but equally as humid. Muggy, muggy, muggy. One side benefit of the hot dry weather is the lack of mosquitos. We were actually able to sit on the patio after dark and visit with our neighbors.

Between the walk in the marsh and the patio time, we went out to eat with all three of our daughters and some of their family members. A very special family time with lots of laughter and good conversation.
