Hummingbird Party

It was a perfect morning for visiting the hummingbirds at Patuxent Wildlife Research Center.  It was such a treat to sit and hear them chirp and whir  under bright blue skies with low humidity.  I missed Osuzanna and Photomatt who have been there with me before, but our buddy George couldn't stay away either.  He spends many hours photographing these birds, and explained that many of the males have already headed south (we didn't see any ruby throats) and that most of today's visitors were juveniles.    As I left I was already looking forward to seeing them again next summer.
