And the rain continues...

....so we did what everyone up here does when it rains for more than a day--we drove into a town! My niece came up on Thurs. eve., so she came along with us. We thought we might take in a movie, but there wasn't anything good playing, so instead we cruised the shops. I picked up a couple of things for the twins that I know they'll like, and something for my son-in-law for his upcoming Sept. birthday.  We went for lunch in a place that had been serving food since the 1920's, and I loved the decor--very much in that time frame, but nice and clean with great food. We thought if the rain stopped by the time we finished eating we'd go down by the beach, as the town was having it's annual "dragon boat" fest. The rain never stopped, though, & we felt so bad as there were boats out on the water that had been decorated to look like dragons, but everything was drenched--the people in the boats all had their heads down, the decorations were destroyed, the races were cancelled--a real shame, since it's the festivals in the summer that bring in funds for the businesses in all these little towns!
