'The Beatrix Potter Trail'

A scorching day...blue skies as far as the eye can see.

This morning we had coffee at Haskins Garden Centre in Eastleigh. I've bought some Tulip bulbs for next Spring...the usual 'Queen of the Night' (my favourite) and a very deep black one called 'Paul Scherer'.

We then drove to Mottisfont Abbey National Trust. ...a very popular place, lots of families as they have the Beatrix Potter trail and exhibition.....many of her original delicate, exquisite pen and watercolour drawings. We had a walk along the beautiful river and watched the Trout jumping. The walled gardens are still looking nice, even though the Roses and Lavenders are past their best. The gardeners working very hard everywhere we looked...

A nice cup of tea at 4pm....the children were still running around with their paper and pencils filling in all their questions. Peter Rabbit was alive and well today.
