The war memorial . . . . .

 . . . . . for Kirkcaldy is very big - this is just some of the panels listing the fallen in the Great War.  As with all war memorials, the lists of names make sad reading.  There were many Kirkcaldy men from the more  local regiments such as the Gordon Highlanders and Cameron Highlanders   - but some in ended their days in more unusual uniforms such as Wireless Operator John Munro of MH Airships,  Private  Alexander Younger of the Army Cyclist Corps,  Private John Ingliss of the French Army and Private John Saunders of the American Army.
