Big American Adventure - Day Four

Lots of walking today but we managed to see loads of things. Started off with pancakes in a local diner (of course!) then we went to the Radio City Music Hall. The Stage Door tour was excellent with lots of backstage access. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us all about the history of the music hall. It was built in 1932, was nearly demolished in the 1970s and then was completely restored to it's full Art Deco glory in 1999. We even got to meet and have our picture taken with a "real life Rockette".

After some shopping we went to Grand Central Station which is as stunning in reality as in all the films I've ever seen it in! This picture was taken from the Apple store in the station. Walked back to the hotel down 5th Avenue passing the very impressive New York public library on the way.

After a brief pitstop we walked to Pier 73, past all the rush hour traffic heading for the Lincoln tunnel, where we got on a Sightseeing night cruise. Again the skyline was fantastic and we sailed right round the Statue of Liberty.
