Gull amusing itself !

Not the sharpest of images taken with my compact camera but perhaps that conveys the movement - this young Herring Gull is one of 3 that have recently taken up residence in the enclosed courtyard beside my work. They make a terrible din and periodically the adult bird arrives and spews up a revolting liquid which they then gobble up.

This particular bird spends the time waiting for food chasing this cylindrical piece of plastic about - it shoots out of its beak every time it tries to hold it and then spends several minutes chasing it about.
