St John's in the Sunshine

When I look up at the spire of our lovely old church I am sometimes amazed that despite my dislike of heights I persuaded myself to take the opportunity of climbing up the scaffolding to the very top of the spire during the spire renovations - even higher up than the gleaming new cockerel which was shining in the sunshine today.
