Kayaks in Carskey Bay

(... and a Yacht on the Horizon)

17.0C with some cloud in the morning then sunny sunshine. Light WNW/W/NW breeze.

Grocery shopping over by mid morning. We left Maeve the Deerhound at home.

We went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach to Carskey Bay where we had a walk with Maeve from one end of the beach to the other and back. The sea was very calm. Maeve didn't paddle. A young seal popped up now and again to have a look at us. The sun came out when we were on the beach and it became lovely and warm. As we neared the far end of the beach four kayakers paddled along. We watched them come across the bay then they seemed to take their time exploring the rocks near the cottages at the far end. I think two of them may have had fishing rods.

There was an abundance of seals on the rocks and swimming just offshore at Kiel when we came back along past the old cemetery.

On the way to Southend we had checked the farm stand for Little Farm. No eggs. One bag of rocket, Two jars of jam. One Cucumber. A couple of Courgettes. One Strawberry plant. No sale.
