Sleeping Beauty

I was passing by the Sexy Rexy rose, lugging a basket of wet laundry out to the clothesline, and suddenly out of the corner of my eye something didn't belong in the picture. The camouflage is magnificent, but just enough off that I spotted him. The morning sun hadn't reached this area yet, and the dragonfly was so still. Lots of time to take multiple shots, getting closer and closer, even gently moving a stray branch. Dragonflies are rare in our yard, and to find this one offering such a perfect view was a gift. By the time I hung out the clothes and came back to check on him, he was gone, warmed up by the sun and off to other pastures.
