Free School Lane, Cambridge.

A long lane of Medieval origin, seen from Bene't Street. A free school was established in the 17th century by Dr Stephen Perse who left money in his will to educate 100 boys from the Cambridge area. The school later became the site of the 1st Perse school for boys. The Whipple Museum of Science now occupies the original school hall. ( No photography allowed in there) I have been to the library today but it was too hot to walk around much. Everywhere crowded with holidaymakers as usual. Either with a map, phone or ice cream in their hands.
