Dying back

We have had a very dry summer.  Our pond has needed quite a few top ups.  The flower beds have needed watering regularly.  And our meadow is past its best.  Many of the plants have now produced seed heads, though there are still some flowers for the insects.

At some stage the whole area needs to be cut down and cleared.  If the dead plants are left to fertilise the area, it will no longer be a meadow.
