Baffling

Seven hundred metres high up on the craggy mass of Pavey Ark, someone once went to the considerable effort of building a drystone wall. No more than 100 m long, and not obviously separating anything from anything else, you have to wonder why they took the trouble. Some extras showing the lovely Langdale landscape; if you look closely at the front view of Pavey Ark you can see the infamous Jack's Rake, a diagonal trench cutting down across the face. If you have a cool head this provides a quick route up the mountain. It has unfortunately also provided an abrupt and quicker route down for quite a few hillwalkers.
