When the going gets weird

They say moving home is the most stressful thing you can do. If the moving involves cramming your possessions into a mini-van and driving them to London, then you can multiply that stress even further.

This was taken in the A1 Truck Stop "Truck Stop of the Year 2014". Arguments about directions and such like had been ongoing for some time. Some food helped the hanger.

Getting into London went relatively smoothly once we got there. Unfortunately the day before we arrived, roadworks had started on our new street. We couldn't park near the flat and had to carry all our stuff from around the corner. Not exactly what you want to do when you've been driving all day.

More stress was generated when we tried to return the Van. What should have been a 12 minute trip up the road, became a torturous 45-minute crawl through London traffic.

Upon arrival at the rental center the Jobsworth douche bag tried to refuse to take the van back, claiming we'd missed the closing time. This was contary to the info we recieved on pick up and I was having NONE of it.

One thing I'm good at is arguing. I will argue with you until you go blue in the face. Eventually, the douche lost his cool and his boss came out to see what all the commotion was about. Fortunately, she was much more agreeable and we managed to return our vehicle.

We walked back to our new digs via a couple of recommended public houses to try and take the edge off the day. I can't really get my head around the fact that I live here now. I'm not sure how long it'll take to sink in.
