Anne's Daily Encounters

Migrating

A quick visit from my eldest son at mine and he willingly posed again for me and my blip. He's just returned from his assingment as hiking guide in the Dolomites of Italy what had been another pleasure for him and the walkers and from where they'd returned all well.

Catching their train from Bolzano had been critical as they'd been trapped in a traffic jam when driving towards Bolzano /Bozen city for its railway station. When they got there luckily for them the train was stationned still at Italy's border railway station, coz of the ongoing search and finds of refugees who tried to travel illegally from Italy into the northern countries of Europe. As if a game of cat and mice was going on there. My son and his group were initially too tired and tense to ponder over their luck as being travellers who have the papers to go where they like in contrast to the captured migrants and refugees who arrived in Italy illegally and want to find their refuge and luck up North in Europe. They realised they watched one of Europe's heart-rending problems in the face.
