Anne's Daily Encounters

Elisabeth

We got away for the weekend and stopped in Akoumia, a village in the province of Rethimnon. After having seen its old church with frescoes we found an elderly lady taking her seat on the bench outside the church and as I asked her if I could picture her we started our chat. Elisabeth her name and a little later she asked her daughter to offer us a piece of just baked bread... Delicious! and still warm!
Then my friend asked her some about her fireplace and she took us up there and told and showed him her secrets of how to cook and bake in an oven. Tradition was passed on  and with such happiness and sweetness! Her daughter here on the handy and my friend and Elisabeth at the fireplace.

A little later when we took a beverage at the village's square under the platan tree, we learned that we were served by  another Elisabeth.... named after her grandmother and YES I'd pictured her grandma and her mama. And while we sat there, her papa, her uncle and her brother all passed by and we were introduced to them ~ simply coz I'd pictured grandmama Elisabeth.
Ofcourse those pix go to them via email / FB
