Aurora

In the midnight Leevi and me headed to Rauhaniemi to see Northern Lights. We spent great 1,5 hours photographing the northern sky, aurora was visible all the time. It was dark, it wasn't too cold and there weren't clouds - ideal circumstances for aurora observers! Rauhaniemi in Tampere is very popular place among foreign students to observe aurora - we wondered if we were the only Finnish speaking people there. In the picture are stairs and springboard for swimmers. Added two more shots as extras, taken from a different spot.

September/October and March are the best months to see aurora here. Magnetic activity is very strong also tonight but unfortunately it's very cloudy :(

Pyrintö women's team will play the national I division this season. Most players of the team are A-girls, but also some B-girls will play in women's team occasionally. Today was the first rehearsal match, Emma was also playing. ToPo won Pyrintö 78-54.

+16°C, cloudy
