Messing around on the river

Relaxing at home with my sister with a Harvey's Bristol Cream after a jaunt to the nearby Shepperton Lock, on the Thames, where two humorous and chatty ladies ran a tiny tea-hut, with some tables on the grass just beside the lock. We enjoyed tea and lemon cake in what is such a quiet place in a busy built-up area of SW London.

It was lovely to sit in the 'almost sunshine' and watch the lock-keeper, mug of tea in hand, opening and closing the lock gates for the occasional cruiser or narrow-boat coming through. Probably not everyone's idea of London!
