Wings and Wheels (Backblip)

We've been at Old Warden, Bedfordshire today at the Shuttleworth 'Wings and Wheels' Event.  This is the third year running we've been to this event and we all thought today was the best.  Pity about the weather though  which was overcast and windy and the really old planes were not able to fly, but those that did put on an amazing show, particularly the lady pilots :  Annabel Burrows (tl) in her camouflaged Tiger Moth (tr) won the staged air race and Emily Todd amazed and wowed us with her fantastic aerobatic display in a CAP 232. Emily taking off  (btm).

Whilst Mr T and Shirl enjoyed drooling over every exhibit in every hangar; vintage cars, vans, motor bikes, planes et al I took a ride on the Charabus* which precariously navigated a full load of us through the Swiss Garden and on to the Mansion.   I loved looking round this stately home which is a popular venue for weddings, conferences and used  as a filming location for period dramas and it's full of the most scrumptious 19 Century paintings which I drooled over.  Once back at the 'Event' I located Mr T and S.  S, as per usual, had put on a most elaborate picnic which we munched upon and sipped at!! whilst thoroughly enjoying this wonderful classic air show.

Oh and about yesterday.......  Thank you so much to all of you for very kindly leaving  comments, stars and hearts on my 4th Blip Birthday,  so chuffed and can't believe I made it!
