Illinois vanity license plate SUNYDZ 8

Wow, my first custom license plate from Illinois. Not quite sure of the meaning, put perhaps one of you has an idea? The "8" at the end has me stumped.

The only thing I can think of is that there is more than one vehicle in Illinois with some variation of a SUNYDZ license plate?
