Standing guard

This is the only lifeguard station on the island. There are a lot of visitors here in summer, and I remember last year, a man drowned and was only found by some kids snorkeling near the pier. Again this year, my friend pulled a drowning man from the sea, performed resuscitation and saved the man's life, all in front of the man's crying 6 year old daughter. The lifeguard finally arrived running, but by then, the man was coughing up sea water and breathing on his own and was going to be ok.

As most Japanese I've met from Tokyo or other big cities can't swim, in summer,
this island needs more lifeguards.
