Lord Armstrong relaxes..

The first Lord Armstrong, scientist, engineer, industrialist, started to build his home at Cragside in 1863.

It turned out to be one of the greatest houses of the north of England.

He was deeply interested in hydraulics, inventing among other things the system that opens and closes Tower Bridge.   Anyway, he introduced a lot of technological innovation into the house.   For example, Cragside was the first electrically lit house in Britain.

He also installed a whole Turkish bath suite.   This is his recliner (complete with provisions) for after the bath.     The Prince and Princess of Wales came to stay in 1894.    They normally stayed at Alnwick Castle, but were tempted to change by the level of luxury and innovation.

Extra:   The Plunge Bath - couldn't quite work out how one would extract a portly gent (as, indeed, was the Prince of Wales).
