Suddenly the sun ...

... was there, improbably, after a grey damp morning, a grey dampness that still persisted only a few miles away in Dunoon but which had miraculously lifted over Stratheck and the Glen Massan hills. This is such a familiar view, and one that I have photographed more times than I can recall, but it looked so lovely today with these triumphant trails of cloud above the tree in mid-field that always turns red in two halves - you can see the russet colour beginning on the left, south-facing foliage.

It's still warm, now, at 10.30pm, but the rain has returned. And the evening is full of moths and daddy-longlegs ...
