A Big Birthday

We set off early for the hills with another car-full of stuff and managed to go home, unpack, change and head out again in time for an 80th birthday  lunch for  our semi-invalid friend.

The friend from Rio who has been helping her with her accounts and general organization had chosen a little restaurant none of us knew (including the taxi driver who eventually got us there), and it came up trumps. The table was stunning, with masses of flowers and beautifully laid, and the lunch was simply delicious. I don’t think Jennifer could have wished for anything better – except perhaps for her daughter to have taken the trouble to come from the neighbouring state, with J’s youngest grandson. Still, her older grandson was there, and in good form, and a goodly collection of friends, so hopefully the wine soon washed away any regrets.

Sincere congratulations to Bridget for organizing a wonderful party.
