Life through the lens...

Taking it easy

Instructions from my dentist said no vigorous excercises for me today, and so after this mornings rain, we drove to Golden Acre Park, Leeds, and had a gentle strole round the woods, lake, and gardens.
First stop was the bird hide, where we watched various birds at the feeding station, including a very bright robin, woodpecker, nuthatch, and tits. However the great tit was my best photo. See top left.
After a walk round the woods, which is where I spotted the fungi ( not sure what they are called) see bottom left, we had a walk along the lake, and then called at the newly refurbished cafe, for a delicious bowl of tomato and red pepper soup and coffee.
Met an old friend from the walking club, and had a nice chat.
Then to see the vegetable garden, and dahlia display .Also herbaceous boarders. Lots of bees about, (see bottom right) but no butterflies .It was very warm, but rather windy, so may be that was why.
The last photo ( top right) is of the large exotic border.
It was so peaceful walking round. Very quiet as the children are now back at school.
Another beautiful summer's day.
