William Wallace

William Wallace is not actually in the photo, he is just over to the left, however reading the words around the shield, I think they are a reference to his struggle for the independence of Scotland.

This island of flowers is more or less a round about as it is surrounded by roads. It stands in between the library, His Majesty's Theatre and Union Terrace Gardens. The last still being a source of controversy as we still do not know if they are to be retained as they are or subject to a radical modernisation.

The main event of the day occurred as I drove the car out of my car park space. It is very tight and I scraped against the adjacent vehicle, an Aston Martin unfortunately. The damage to both cars is very slight, probably invisible unless you know it is there. Nevertheless it will probably be expensive to fix. Bother!
