Whirled Wide Web

The fuchsias and hydrangeas
were perfect strangers
till a spider's web brought them together.
Now they're united,
they're quite delighted,
but the web's caught the worst of the weather.

The flowers bloom on
though the spider's gone
to adopt new friends to tether.
The fuchsias say,
"She left today,
heading," they add, "for the heather."
