Long Live(d) the Queen!

Our Queen's overtaken Victoria,
Hence the media's sudden euphoria.
For 63 years,
Seven months she's heard cheers:
In excelsis, Elizabeth, Gloria!

At around 17:30 today, Queen Elizabeth II breaks the record as the longest reigning monarch in British history. I'm commemorating the occasion by blipping this beautiful counted-thread-work that my mother embroidered in celebration of the Coronation in the year I was born.

Here is the other embroidery that my mother worked that same year that I blipped on the diamond anniversary of our queen's coronation.

I wonder if she'll be quaffing a Guinness in honour of her entry into the Guinness Book of Records that I presume will follow?
