Marjorie's ramblings

Slaggyford Circular

I led the walk from Slaggyford today. It was a glorious day, proving the old adage that it never rains on Wednesdays. (Correct for once at least!)

As we crossed the first field we were joined by an excitable terrier who proceeded to chase sheep. Small delay while dog was persuaded to come to one of the group, put on string (walkers always have spare laces etc) and taken back to owner who was oblivious.

Several tricky stiles later we had to stop for sheep to be moved - lambs to slaughter I think. Then we stopped for coffee. The result was a very slow start to the day.

We enjoyed the sun and enjoyed the scenery. For those who had not walked in the South Tyne valley before, it was a revelation.

In this image I have slightly desaturated because the grass looked too green to be true!
