Opening statement 2010
I have retired from work and like to spend my time walking in the stunning countryside of Northumberland. I'm a keen amateur photographer, attending a class and hoping to improve my skills. I use a Canon 5D Mkiii with a variety of lenses. I enjoy a variety of types of photography and try to reflect this in my blips.

In 2015 I acquired a Sony a7ii and I'm enjoying using this. It is certainly lighter than my other cameras!

I very much appreciate the community on Blip where I have made a some great friendships.

I have never before managed to keep a diary beyond a few weeks as an adolescent, so I'm delighted to find that Blip keeps me posting images and writing a little to remember each day.

You may see references to Arth* and Aggie in my blips. They are my creaky, painful knees "who" on occasion give me cause to moan about them!

If you need to contact me off blip, my email is marjbaillie at gmail dot com

Update May 28th 2017
I have reached the milestone of 2500 blips. A long time ago I forced myself to miss a day occasionally in order to avoid addiction, but "fell off the wagon" soon afterwards and blip every day. I love being part of this amazing community.

Update December 2018
I now use a Sony a7 mkiii and love it. I still blip every day and it’s great to look back over the year and see the highlights. Oscar and Daisy are now part of our household and provide occasional blip material.
I find the community of blippers to be the best - it is such a friendly and supportive place to be, far beyond the photography.

*Arth underwent a total knee replacement in November 2018.

January 2020
I now use a Sony A9 nearly all the time and love it.
Our rescue cats, Oscar and Daisy arrived 2 years ago and have taken a lot of patience to help them to settle. After 18 months Oscar allowed me to stroke him in passing. They continue to make progress and occasionally sign image releases for Blip!

July 2022
I have now completed 12 years of blipping. Where did those years go? The evidence of them is here on Blipfoto. I'm still in love with photography and with the community here.
