Marjorie's ramblings

Big skies

Big skies like this one are typical of the landscape here. You feel as though you can see for ever.

I was out on a walk in the National Park, led by one of their volunteer rangers. They have a great programme this year.

We started in Simonburn and walked by the old castle up to the moors. Usually the land is boggy at any time of year, but it’s rock hard at the moment.

I have led walks here a lot in the past, so it was a really joy to be in the area and to complete over 14 km!

We were a small group of 6 plus the two park volunteers.

I’m a bit stiff and sore but I was fine at the end.

PS I forgot to say that there was a raven in the trees near Goatstones Farm. We heard it first then saw it flying.
