poor little Asia

Lightning is wondering why Asia & her bed are out in the middle of the Living room? Steve & I were playing Cribbage and wanted her near, because she is so unsteady. Hopefully, Asia will be coming around and feeling better soon... Our vet suspects that she has  "Old Dog Vestibular Disease".... which would translate to, "Canine idiopathic vestibular disease (also called old dog vestibular disease) and its feline counterpart, feline idiopathic vestibular disease, begin acutely and resolve acutely. Usually improvement is evident in 72 hours and the animal is normal in 7 to 14 days, although occasionally a head tilt will persist." It is not known why this develops.

Asia has mostly been sleeping because her perception is so out of whack. She wobbles when she walks, tilts her head to one side and is very unsteady on her feet -even fell over a couple times. Her eyes move quickly from side to side which I am sure is why she is so dizzy. Fortunately, a few friends are familiar with this malady and say it usually goes away in 3 days. Asia is halfway there and here's hoping she has more time to run around with us yet. xo
