Day off, big lunch

Today we had a day off, and as a late birthday surprise for Mrs BH I'd booked us a table at Alyn Williams at the Westbury. And yes, it is as posh as it sounds.

We had the vegetarian tasting menu and it was course after course of truly delicious food - the best meal we've ever eaten. Highlights we're the smoked egg with crème fraiche and celeriac, the seaweed purée, the onion bhaji, the passion fruit cheesecake and the scalded milk with crème caramel and cherry blossom.

If you're in London, looking for a really special place to eat, please go there and have your socks blown off by amazing cuisine. We'll be going back for sure.

And after all those 8 courses, we ambled down Regent Street and admired the flags!
