As part of the Heritage Open Days, Saltisford Canal Centre in Warwick has been holding a Family Weekend over the last couple of days.
We visited this afternoon, and there was all sorts going on: canal boat rides, a craft fair, model boat displays, historic boats, local canal/wildlife groups, and the inevitable beer tent and food stalls.
This teddy was having a whale of a time, whizzing round on a model boat.  We chatted to some of the men who had their model boats on display. There must have been hundreds of hours of work gone into each one. One chap showed us the winches etc on one of his steam ships. He had made them all himself using parts from clocks etc. and they were all very intricate and extremely detailed.
