Sharp dresser

Spiked shieldbug, Picromerus bidens, spotted today at the nature reserve during a work party to clear invasive Buddleja and other shrubs. It is a fierce predator of caterpillars, mainly, but I wonder if this one had its eye on the spider on the next leaf - a Xysticus (probably bifasciatus) - that had just caught a grasshopper nymph (see extra photo).
