My Day, My Life

Do You Know The Way To San Jose?

As i type this up, My Girl & I are almost 400 miles from home.

On Sunday we left Edinburgh and headed south to Leicester, where we watched the Monarchs race the Lions, we just missed out on the 'gold' losing the meeting by 1 point!

Final score 45-44

After a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast well, when in England we left our hotel and travelled to Wolverhampton, our base for the next two nights.

Consecutive nights racing at Monmore Green Stadium, on Monday we saw Elite League Wolverhampton Wolves vs Eastbourne Eagles.

And on Tuesday and it was the turn of National League Dudley Heathens vs Stoke Potters.

Wednesday morning saw us leave Wolverhampton and head even further south, this time to Bridgwater where the Monarchs were due to rumble with the Rebels, the Somerset Rebels that is!

There was no rumbling, instead it was the ROAR of engines as the teams raced round the track. There was much seesawing with the scoreline but as before the final score favoured the home side.

Final score 48-42

But even though we lost out on a victory at either track, because the scores were 6 points or less apart, Monarchs gained a valuable league point from each match and all points gained are important.

Tomorrow we head to Sheffield, home of The Tigers, where we have high hopes of a win.

Let's hope they're not 'high apple pie in the sky hopes'!

And once the meetings done, then we're done and we head home, to Edinburgh.

But there's no rest for the wicked, as on Friday evening we welcome Somerset Rebels to OUR neck of the woods.

And just when you thought surely there can't be anymore, on Saturday we have Newcastle Diamonds joining us for a match.

So that's 7 meetings, in 7 days.

Who says you need a day of rest!

Not me ;)
