Village Weaver - Backblip

It's another Birthday for Mr T today and as it isn't good weather for flying either real or model planes we've settled on a visit to Chester Zoo, took a picnic and hoped and prayed the forecast rain showers would stay away which they did and the dreary morning gave way to a lovely sunny afternoon.

We do love Chester Zoo, it's situate in very large grounds just outside the Village of Upton, near Chester, and maybe you will remember that lovely   BBC1 Drama about George Mottershead  who started the Zoo in the 1930's amidst great opposition from the locals.  Now, the Zoo is situate in an area of around 121 acres and it takes a lot of walking around so today we concentrated our attention on the south side with the Elephants, Giraffes and Cats here, some Monkey Business  here and finally with the Birds and Butterflies here  if you would care to have a look and if there are any wrong IDs then correction would be much appreciated.

We were late home but I did cook a bit of a celebratory dinner accompanied by the obligatory glass or two of the red stuff .....
